Colocation web hosting service: While the Colocation web hosting service shares many of the same qualities of the dedicated we hosting service, there are some differences.  The user typically owns the collocation server.  The company that hosts the site will provide the user with space to use the server and will maintain the server as well.  It can be very expensive and at the same time very powerful to use this type of web hosting.  Most of the time, the collocation provider will provide almost no support for each of their clients machines.  They simply provide the user with internet access, electrical support, and the facility to store the server.  Each Client typically has their own administrator that will prepare any upgrades or changes on site at the data center.

Clustered Hosting: Clustered hosting provides many different servers that will host similar content.  This will allow for the resources to be better utilized.  If you are looking to create a scalable hosting solution or are operating a high availability dedicated hosting service then clustered hosting may be the best option for you.

Grid Hosting: If a server cluster has multiple nodes and acts like a grid it is considered a form of distributed hosting.

Home Server: A home server is just what it sounds like.  It is a single computer that is located in a person’s home that can be used to host a single or multiple web sites.  It is typically connected to a general broadband service.  Some people have an older computer transformed specifically for this purpose.
